I like to imagine what Shippo, Kohaku, Sota, Kanna, and Soten (the thunder demon girl) are up to during the main story.
I can picture them spying on the ‘big kids,’ trying to play matchmaker, pulling pranks, etc.
Maybe Inu uses Shippo to spread nasty gossip about Sess:
“yeah, that’s right; the chill-looking prefect prince is two-timing with another prefect and a first-year!”
